Women’s Chainsaw Safety Class

Join the Delaware Highlands Conservancy for a free Women’s Chainsaw Safety class in Lake Ariel, PA, a program of Women and Their Woods. The all-day class will be taught by a certified Game of Logging instructor in partnership with the Northern Tier Hardwood Association and will focus on introducing participants to open-face felling and the development of techniques to safely use it. The topics covered will include personal protective equipment, chainsaw safety features, chainsaw reactive forces, bore cutting, pre-planning the fell, and understanding hinge wood strength. Participants will each get hands-on experience for felling trees.
