Electrifying ZOFO performance on tap at Bethel Woods
BETHEL, NY – With dazzling artistry and outside-the-box thematic programming for piano-four-hands, internationally acclaimed pianists Eva-Maria Zimmermann and Keisuke Nakagoshi have electrified audiences from Carnegie Hall to Tokyo.
The duo – known as ZOFO – joined forces in 2009, and their Grammy-nominated recordings, along with their prize-winning performances, are blazing a bold new path for four-hands groups by focusing on 20th and 21st century repertoire.
On Thursday, October 19, ZOFO will bring their duet arrangements of famous orchestral pieces to the Bethel Woods Event Gallery in P.L.A.Y. the Classics – a collaboration of the Shandelee Music Festival and Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.

Winner of the prestigious Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarship, Ms. Zimmermann has appeared at international festivals worldwide, including the “Festival Piano en Saintonge” France and the “Sommerfestspiele Murten” Switzerland.
Keisuke Nakagoshi began his piano studies at age 10, arriving in the United States from Japan at age 18, and studying at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He has performed to acclaim on prestigious concert stages across the United States, including the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall and 0the Hollywood Bowl. Mr. Nakagoshi is Pianist-in-Residence at The San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the award-winning Opera Parallele.
The October 19 program will include music by Debussy, Ravel, Holst, Stravinsky and others, along with a selection of newly commissioned works.
The performance begins at 8 p.m. and will be followed by a specialty dessert reception. The Bethel Woods Event Gallery is located at 200 Hurd Road in Bethel, and is completely accessible.
