WoodsTalk:Live presents: “Survival Tools in the Age of Fake News”

A 2-hour interactive roundtable focusing on the very stubborn and perplexing issue of factual reporting, the role of satire, and how to be an informed citizen. The event envisions a nationally well-known key note speaker and expert panelists, accompanied by a college student who developed a FB news verifying app, a member of our local press, and a representative from our 42 member regional library system. The event also envisions several Do Now in-seat activities, opportunities for discussion as well as concluding remarks. The goal is to work with local libraries, press, community colleges, and high schools to fill the Event Gallery; each participant will leave with at least one tool to use to navigate media facts and fictions.
