Woodstalk: Live – Think, Ink, Act: Silk Screen Poster Workshop

In a daylong onsite workshop at the Conservatory, participants will learn the scrappy and resourceful art of silk screening. Counterculture embraced the art form throughout history for its quick and graphically stunning results. Connections to our exhibits are obvious as there will be a gallery of black lit posters in the special exhibit, Peter Max artifacts, and advertisements for the Woodstock Fair will be represented via a slide show. From design basics to materials to equipment and the history of the poster and its impact on grass roots movements, this is an enticing prototype for adult arts programming.
