Winter Hiking Tips & Book Signing
February 2, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Be the first to check out the expanded edition of the best-selling local hiking guide, “Circuit Hikes in Harriman.” Author and New York – New Jersey Trail Conference Membership & Development Director Don Weise will share tips on planning for safe, extraordinary hikes this winter and will provide a sneak-peek at the book’s two new chapters.
Special guest and Garrison-Beacon native Hank Osborn will discuss the Trail Conference’s latest trail projects around Garrison, including the successful stewards program at Breakneck Ridge. This program has reduced lost hiker and rescue calls and is helping direct crowds to other, less impacted hiking destinations.
“Circuit Hikes in Harriman” is the definitive guide to loop hikes and runs in Harriman and Bear Mountain State Parks. New and experienced hikers will benefit from this talk. Copies of the book are available for purchase and signing at the special price of $12.
Refreshments will be served, admission is free. Registration requested. Call 845.424.3020 to register.
When: Thursday, February 2, 6:30 p.m.
Where: Desmond-Fish Library, 472 Route 403, Garrison, NY 10524
