Collaborate, create, make change here.

STREETS, the street theatre ensemble of NACL Theatre is welcoming new participants (age thirteen and up) to join FREE rehearsals and trainings every Thursday evening upstairs at The Western Ballroom in Callicoon NY at 6 PM.

Directed by Tannis Kowalchuk, the community ensemble is creating a series of spectacular short outdoor plays entitled SMALL MIRACLES to tour to a variety of outdoor events, parades and festivals in the region. Issues and performance themes of interest for the group include ecology, public land, bullying and violence, welcoming strangers, depression, connections, and activism.

The weekly trainings include activities such as group theatre exercises, group singing, stilt walking for those who want to try, performance composition, set and prop construction, writing and design.

The project encourages people to connect with others, build a team, challenge themselves, and together create beautiful performance art that is designed to spark ideas, entertain, and bring forth change for a better world.

Taking place every Thursday from 6-8:30 PM at the Western in Callicoon, NY. participants should wear clothes to move in and bring paper and pen. The training is FREE of charge. Contact tannis@nacl.org for more info. Or just show up ready to work.
