Mom’s Meatloaf Movie Mondays: Where The Heart Is (2000)

Played by Natalie Portman, Novalee Nation is a pregnant teen abandoned by her no-good boyfriend at a Wal-Mart in a small Oklahoma town. Living secretly in the store, she gives birth there, attracting national media attention. With the help of others, she makes a new life for herself with her daughter, Americus, the “Wal-Mart baby.” Also stars Stockard Channing, Ashley Judd, and Joan Cusack as Novalee’s quirky and lovable friends, and Sally Field as her estranged mother, Mama Lil.
