Mom’s Meatloaf Movie Mondays: The Joy Luck Club (1993)

The Joy Luck Club (喜福会, 喜福會) from 1993 is an intricate and poignant story about the cultural divide between four Chinese-American daughters and their immigrant mothers. Directed by Wayne Wang and shot in San Francisco and China, the film is based on the eponymous best-selling novel by Amy Tan.

Each Monday, Henning’s Local screens favorite films about mothers, from unforgettable evil villains to classic characters who stole our hearts.
