Mom’s Meatloaf Movie Mondays: As Good as It Gets (1997)

This romantic comedy stars Helen Hunt as a wisecracking waitress and single mother who has dedicated herself solely to caring for her chronically ill son and Jack Nicholson as a misanthropic curmudgeon and obsessive-compulsive novelist. Over time, a contentious yet tender relationship develops between the two, despite their stubborn tics. Both actors won Academy Awards for their leading roles. Directed by James L. Brooks (“Terms of Endearment,” “Broadcast News,” “Jerry Maguire”), the film also features Greg Kinnear, Cuba Gooding Jr., Shirley Knight, Harold Ramis, and a very cute Brussels Griffon dog.
