Manhattan Chamber Players at Shandelee Music Festival
August 15, 2017 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Concertgoers are in for a special treat on Tuesday, August 15 as the Manhattan Chamber Players perform An Evening of Chamber Music during the Sunset Concert Series at the Shandelee Music Festival.
The Manhattan Chamber Players were formed in 2015 by Artistic Director Luke Fleming. Comprised of an impressive roster of musicians, the performers all come from the tradition of great music making at the Marlboro Music Festival, Steans Institute at Ravinia, Music@Menlo, Yellow Barn Chamber Music Festival and Perlman Music Program. They are former students of the Curtis Institute, Juilliard, Colburn, New England Conservatory, and Yale School of Music.
Strings Magazine recently said a performance by the Manhattan Chamber Players “… felt refreshingly like an auditory version of a vertical wine tasting … Overall, I wished I could put them on repeat.”
Some of the most in-demand solo and chamber performers of their generation, members of the Manhattan Chamber Players are top prizewinners in the Banff, Concert Artists Guild, Fischoff, Melbourne, Naumburg, Osaka, Primrose, Queen Elisabeth, Rubenstein, Tchaikovsky, Tertis, and Young Concert Artists Competitions. They have been featured multiple times on NPR’s Performance Today.
At Shandelee the Manhattan Chamber Players will perform great works in the chamber repertoire composed by Schumann, Ravel and Dvořák.
All performances in the Sunset Concert Series begin at 8 p.m. and will be followed by a specialty dessert reception. The climate-controlled, Sunset Concert Pavilion is located at 442 J. Young Road, Livingston Manor. The grounds and Pavilion are completely accessible.
Concert tickets are $35 for adults, $30.00 for Shandelee Music Festival members, and $10.00 for students 17 and under. Advanced reservations are required by calling 845-439-3277. Additionally, subscriptions are available for a 10 percent discount. For more information, please visit https://www.shandelee.org.
