Day of Stewardship at the Delaware Water Gap NRA
June 17, 2017 @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm
Volunteer with REI, Appalachian Mountain Club, National Park Service and New York-New Jersey Trail Conference for our inaugural trail stewardship day at the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.
REI and partners invite you to get outside on June 17 to support the vital trail stewardship efforts of these organizations in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The event will be held at AMC’s Mohican Outdoor Center in Blairstown, NJ. Registration is required.
Those who participate will begin their day at the Outdoor Center at 9:30am where volunteers check-in, receive a REI stewardship t-shirt, learn about the project, and are welcomed by the National Park Service. After check-in, volunteers will promptly head out on the trails near Mohican to work alongside NPS, REI, NYNJTC and AMC to help make the trails safer and more sustainable for hikers and visitors.
Please pack a lunch and 2 liters of water. Wear a hat, sunscreen, closed-toe shoes, long pants. After the stewardship project, stick around for fun activities provided by REI’s Outdoor School, and gear raffles for some lucky winners! Questions? Contact the AMC: jmartin@outdoors.org or call (201) 283 0838.
