Sullivan County Chamber Orchestra at the Tusten Theatre

Hi! Bizzy here, your DVAA program director, here with our FINAL(!) performance of the Tusten Theatre Spring Cultural Series.

Argentine composer and bandoneonist J.P. Jofre will perform “Save the Last Tango” accompanied by the Sullivan County Chamber Orchestra. The bandoneon, a concertina-like instrument, gives the tango its unique sound.

“For me, tango has to do with secrets, with beauty and mystery, and simplicity as well,” says Jofre in an interview with The New York Times. “But one of the main things is the bandoneón. Yes, you can have a tango without it. But it’s the sound that gives the music its stamp.”
