DESCRIPTION:“With severe weather events becoming more frequent and more extreme\, it is more important than ever that New Yorkers are prepared for disasters and know what to do in an emergency\,” said Governor Andrew Cuomo\, 2014 State of the State Address.\nA free Emergency Preparedness Workshop will be presented on Thursday\, December 14\, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm by New York National Guard troops\, in conjunction with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES). Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County (CCESC) will host this program as part of its commitment to the New York Extension Disaster Education Network (NY EDEN)\, at its Extension Education Center on 64 Ferndale-Loomis Road in Liberty. \nThe event is part of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s continuing Citizen Preparedness Corps Training Program\, which provides citizens with the tools and resources to prepare for any type of disaster\, respond accordingly\, and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. \nThe training course\, designed by DHSES\, will provide an introduction to responding to a natural or man-made disaster. Participants will be advised on a broad range of emergency-preparedness topics\, including developing a family emergency plan and stocking up on emergency supplies\, and registering for NY-Alert\, the free statewide emergency alert system. \nThis class is free to the public. Registration is requested in advance by calling CCESC at 845-292-6180\, emailing sullivan@cornell.edu\, or using the link on the left sidebar of this page.  \nSince the program’s launch in early February 2014\, troops have held more than 1\,690 events statewide\, and taught over 108\,000 citizens how to be better prepared for emergencies and disasters. I need your help to make this a successful night Help make a difference!!!. \n EACH PERSON MUST HAVE A TOY TO DONATE TO ENTER. TOYS WILL BE AVAILABLE THERE TO PURCHASE FOR THOSE WHO FORGET!!!! \n Details: $35 a person and an unwrapped toy or toys(we love multiple toys) will get you 3 hours of Premium Top Shelf Open Bar\, Live DJ from 8pm until 1 am\, Carving stations to feed you and much much more. We will be giving out raffles to everyone who prepays again which is very exciting. \nTo donate a gift or basket please inbox me directly. \n The Villa Roma is offering a great room rate for the Friday and Saturday night. $99 for the night with $50 being donated back to the Boys and Girls Club.
