We will have a few keynote speakers/presenters educating us on the different ways we can heal ourselves while giving us fresh ideas for holiday gifts just in time for the giving season! \nSam Kovalyov will be giving a talk on “Common Sense Nutrition” and talking to us about his new local project “Healer’s Haven”\nEugene Thalmann will be giving a talk on “Whole-Food Plant-Based Nutrition”\nFred Kovalyov will be walking us through a short mobility routine and will demonstrate “The Golden Triangle” bodyweight exercise program.\nMarilyn Gitanjali will be leading us through a Kundalini Yoga session and breathing meditation\nMarc Switko will be performing a meditative gong bath\nWe will have demos of Raindrop Massage Technique\, essential oils\, Float Therapy\nand more! \nRaffle tickets will be sold giving you a chance to win some fantastic prizes offered from our local businesses. Lunch will be our community potluck so please bring a dish for the group to share and be prepared to label your dish. DESCRIPTION:Nutrition is important for pets in our care\, as extended members of the family. Pet owners are invited into the Catskills Kitchen to create homemade\, healthy\, and affordable treats for their dogs or cats. Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County (CCESC) is offering a DIY Pet Treats workshop Saturday\, December 9\, 2017. The hands-on class will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Catskills Kitchen of CCESC’s Extension Education Center on 64 Ferndale-Loomis Road in Liberty. Participants should bring a bag lunch. \nCCESC Master Food Preserver volunteers will present how to make nutritious dog and cat treats as a way to save money and provide a safe\, healthy alternative to store-bought treats using ingredients you can trust.  \nHomemade pet treats make great holiday gifts! Everyone will take home prepared food samples. \nCost is $30 per person or $25 per CCESC enrollee. Anyone can enroll in CCESC for an annual contribution of $25 and receive a monthly subscription to the Extension Connection magazine. SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE. \nRegistration can be completed by calling CCESC at 845-292-6180\, emailing sullivan@cornell.edu\, or using the link in TICKETS.  \nPayment can be made in advance by check\, cash\, or credit. Utilizing gong music as an empowering\, healing tool has opened new pathways of compassion and empathy for Marc and he is excited to be sharing these powerful sound waves with others.  He participated in an intensive certification residency in Fall 2016\, studying Gong for use in both healing and performing modalities with Master Don Conreaux\, one of the five original Kundalini yoga teachers designated by Yogi Bhajan in 1969. \nMarc’s first Gong Album\, “Birth Trip No. 1\,” (available at marcswitko.bandcamp.com) was recorded and mixed by Josh Druckman at Outlier Inn Recording (@outliermusic) and was released in October 2017.  This coincides with a story about Marc’s gong practice in the October issue of Better Homes and Gardens\, written by Amy Brightfield.  He performed in the amazing Gong Ensemble\, “A Gong Supreme\,” at BSP Kingston October 8th 7pm for the O+ Festival which opened for the popular alt-rock band\, Deerhoof.\nHe is hard at work on a multi-instrumentalist soundscape project called “Vibro Manifest Inception” and performs Sound Concerts regularly.  \nMarc is also a visual artist\, writer\, and NYS licensed psychotherapist. He has created unique assemblage and collage for commission\, publication\, and gallery shows (see Disney Magazine ‘Family Fun’ for feature story).
