Follow red arrows from non-toxic paint on trees along the trail. Better signage and markers will be implemented over the next year.
Cornell Cooperative Extension & BOCES
The trail head is located behind Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County’s Gerald J. Skoda Extension Education Center on 64 Ferndale-Loomis Road in Liberty, NY and is adjacent to the Sullivan County BOCES campus. There is plenty of parking and trail hours are dawn to dusk March to November. Leashed dogs are welcome!
Just over a mile long, don’t underestimate this easy to moderate hike! With a nature-themed Little Lending Library at the head, a spring-fed pond (popular with turtles and frogs in the spring and summer months), picnic area, streams, and plenty of bird life, this quiet refuge has a lot to offer—right in busy Liberty. The trail head is located behind Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County’s Gerald J. Skoda Extension Education Center on 64 Ferndale-Loomis Road in Liberty, NY and is adjacent to the Sullivan County BOCES campus. Trail hours are dawn to dusk March to November. Leashed dogs are welcome! Large groups must contact the CCE office beforehand by calling 845-292-6180.
Currently, trail conditions are rough due to Hurricane Sandy. Please be careful as there are downed and damaged trees. Trail is very muddy in areas. Please keep off of outdated exercise stations, as they are in the process of being removed. Please keep off of ropes course equipment.
